In their 5th year, the Business of Science Leadership Awards will again be given to pay tribute to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding business leadership in an area of science and innovation.

Business of Science Leadership Award

The 2022 Business of Science Leadership Awards will continue to celebrate the notable leadership and significant contributions of individuals to the Commercialisation of Science, irrespective of geography, sector or background.

There were 3 Leadership Awards in 2021, and nominations will again be welcomed against each of the categories:

Public / Charity
Private Sector - Large
Private Sector – SME

In addition to the Leadership Award, there will again be a Special Recognition award chosen by the panel of UK-wide judges to acknowledge the significant achievement made by an individual to the business of science within the West Midlands Region.

All these awards will be presented at the Business of Science pre-conference dinner which will be held on the evening of Tuesday 14th June 2022 at Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh.

Professor Dame Sarah Gilbert

Special Recognition Award

The Business of Science special recognition award for 2021 was awarded to Professor Dame Sarah Gilbert from the University of Oxford.  Steve Bennett (Business of Science) presented the award in a separate meeting at the Jenner Institute, Oxford.
